Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is a Representative from Arizona’s 5th congressional district and has subverted climate change science consistently in both his voting record and public remarks.
On Climate Change
In 2016, Representative Biggs stated at a Mesa town hall meeting that he does “not believe climate change [is] occurring” and that the “government should stop regulating and stomping on our economy and freedoms in the name of a discredited theory.” Representative Biggs’ League of Conservation lifetime score is 6%, while his 2019 score is mere 0%. The Arizona representative reportedly urged Trump’s famous 2017 decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.

In 2018, Representative Biggs was the only House member to receive a 100% scorecard rating from the Club for Growth, a conservative 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to deregulation, cutting taxes, and limiting the federal government. The Club for Growth has routinely undermined efforts to curb climate change, citing the American economy as its primary concern. The Club for Growth’s scorecard has been described as “the Oscar nominations list [for Republicans], with everyone dying to know who ranks where.”
