Bill Shuster served in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2019. Elected from Pennsylvania’s 9th District, he eventually chaired the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. His career League of Conservation voting score is 5%.
On Climate Change:
Shuster embraced the language of denial–the science isn’t clear–without ever denying climate change. In a campaign interview with We Are Central Pennsylvania he remarked that, “Protecting our environment for future generations is one of the most important issues facing our country and the world. There continues to be debate among the scientific community on the precise reason why global temperatures have gradually risen over the last century.”
