David Rothbard (1964-2018) co-founded the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) with Craig Rucker in 1985. Before his death, he served as president and chairman of the group. He has also testified before Congress and other state legislatures several times.
On Climate Change
In 2015, Rothbard said that “there had been no meaningful warming since last century.” In 2013, he said that “There is no evidence that we face imminent catastrophic man-made climate change.”
At a 2013 summit in Poland that coincided with the UN COP-19, he said that “severe weather events such as floods, droughts, and rising sea levels have been greatly exaggerated, and that virtually all climate models failed to account for the flat line in world temperatures over the last 17 years.”
CFACT also states that Rothbard was a “driving force” behind the Cornwall Declaration, the statement that prompted the formation of the Cornwall Alliance.
