Kevin Brady (R-TX, 8th District) is a member of the House of Representatives. He represents the eighth district in Texas. Brady graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1990 and immediately started working in local politics, first in South Dakota and later in Texas. He first ran for election in the US House of Representatives in 1996 after incumbent Jack Fields retired. Brady has represented Texas since 1997.
Brady has resisted calls to acknowledge the existence of climate change. In 2014 he posted on factbook an article that claimed global warming was pausing and attached the caption “I wonder if proponents of ‘climate change’ consider a NASA climatologist worth listening to”. Since he made this statement in 2014, he has only voted in favor of 5 bills that would help the environment despite overwhelming scientific evidence that more action needs to be taken.
