Kurt Schlichter is a Los Angeles-based trial lawyer, an Army veteran, and a weekly columnist writer for Townhall. He also wrote for Breitbart News.
On Climate Change
In 2022, Schlichter took to Twitter to briefly state his thoughts on climate change, saying that “it’s a hoax designed to take your power and money” and, in another Tweet he discussed NASA’s consensus that the Earth is warming, in part because of humanity itself, Schlichter asks “Would a drop in temperatures disprove climate change?”
Schlichter wrote a 2019 article for Townhall titled “‘Climate Change’ Is A Hoax”, an opinion piece where Schlichter asserts his reasons as to why “climate change” is a lie. He states that the term “climate change” in his opinion doesn’t refer to the “actual meteorological phenomena but, rather, to the sordid rat-king of lies, scams and power grabs that we are commanded to accept…” Although he states that, indeed, our climate is ever-changing, he claims that linking it to humans and carbon emissions is pointless because “there’s simply no evidence that is a significant [factor].”
