Randy Hultgren on Climate Change

When asked about “man-made climate change” in an interview with conservative newsletter the Illinois Review, Hultgren stated, “Over the thousands of years that’s been recorded we’ve had both colder times and warmer times…so, I don’t believe that we have a significant impact on climate change.”

Hultgren went on to say that he is in favor of “good stewardship of the resources of our Earth,” however he is “opposed to bills like Cap-n-Trade that put forced government intrusion into our lives and our productivity with very sketchy science.”

In 2010, Hultgren signed the Americans for Prosperity “No Climate Tax Pledge,” which states that pledgers will “oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”
